‘Vessels’ was captured one morning as the sun streamed through the open window onto the kitchen bench. The artwork challenges the observers’ interpretation of light, shadow and negative space. The elongated shadows cast by the sharp light reveal the form of the antique medicine bottles - otherwise obscured to the observer. In seconds, as the light continues its journey, the curious shapes and patterns dissolve.
‘Vessel’ looks lovely hanging alongside ‘Whiskey Glass.’ The works speak to each other through contrasting colours, both expressing a balance between sharp lines and soft curves.
